FIBA Oceania Under-15 Championship

Short History

The FIBA Oceania Under-15 Championship is a men's under-15 international basketball competition that is governed by FIBA Oceania. The first edition was held in 2009, in Australia, as the FIBA Oceania Under-16 Championship. It usually has been played biannually, and the tournament has been played by under 16 teams. The tournament served as the qualification tournament for the FIBA Under-17 World Cup. However, from 2018, the championship is played by under-15 teams and it has been renamed as the FIBA Oceania Under-15 Championship. Now, it serves as the qualification tournament for the FIBA Asia Under-16 Championship, from which they can then qualify for the FIBA Under-17 World Cup. The 2020 edition was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
