FIBA Asia Under-16 Championship for Women

Short History

     The FIBA Asia Under-16 Championship for Women is a women's under-16 international basketball competition that is governed by FIBA Asia. The first edition was held in 2009, in India. It is held biennially and it serves as the qualification tournament for the FIBA Under-17 Women's World Cup, for the FIBA Asia region. From 2017 teams from FIBA Oceania were also included. The 2019 edition was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
