SCAHC

Short History

The South and Central America Handball Confederation (SCAHC) is responsible for controlling and developing the sport of handball and beach handball in South and Central America, within the International Handball Federation (IHF). It is one of six Regions of IHF which currently includes 19 national South and Central American handball federations. Confederación Sur y Centro Americana de Balonmano (COSCABAL) in Spanish was founded on 5 April 2019 in Cali, Colombia. SCAHC arose from the division of Pan-American Team Handball Federation, after IHF suspended PATHF in 2018 and recognition of the SCAHC and NACHC as new continental confederations in 2019 at the IHF Extraordinary Congress held in Gothenburg, Sweden. SCAHC holds several different tournaments for men and women of different age categories.
