FIFA U-20 World Cup

Short History

     The FIFA U-20 World Cup has been staged every two years since the first tournament in 1977 held in Tunisia. Until 2005 it was known as the FIFA World Youth Championship. From 1977 there were 16 teams in the competition, from 1997 the tournament was expanded to 24 teams.
